Peugeot generator engine?

I have an old 20Kw hospital standby generator that needs an engine.
Somebody kludged an old Toyota 1600 onto it way back but it's long since
blown. I have a 2.3L turbo diesel peugeot (505 engine) and wonder if it
wouldn't do a fair job of cranking the generator around at 1800 RPM.
The Toyota, from what I'm told, didn't have squat at that rpm but I
thought maybe the Pug could do better. Anyone know what HP would be
available at 1800 RPM, and would it pay to retain the turbo or am I
correct in surmising that it wouldn't be doing much at that RPM??
BTW I don't think the Toy put out 20Kw; I'm told it would carry a 10kw
load, although the generator itself could produce 20Kw if driven at that
rpm. I'm also thinking about using a heat exchanger for radiator and
maybe exhaust manifold to recover heat for domestic water heating. I
would love to hear any input on this. Thanks.
