Hi Sandy -

Could be the thermostat. If you're lucky though, it might be just
the connector to the thermostat, which has a tendency to get corroded
if the gasket around the thermostat leaks, as it is wont to do. You
can try cleaning the connector first - there are two, one on the side
and one on the underside. I had a problem with the one underneath, and
to get to it had to remove the airbox and a bunch of hoses. I have
been told though that this is not necessary, especially if you have a
small hand..... There's a little clip on the connector that you have
to remove, which was rusted in place on mine.
