In france, there was two MI16 one (the first) with 160HP (without cat converter)
which was the XU9J4, and the one in the new 405 with the XU10J4 150HP with cat.

The second engine was (is) not as good as the first and was mounted in
the CITROEN ZX/XANTIA and PEUGEOT 306/405 and is now replaced by the
XU10 8v turbo 150 HP in the XANTIA/406 (this motor was first mounted
in the XM/605 then in the EVASION/806).

Now the ZX/306 use the new 2.0L 167 HP (six speed in the 306).

I'm sure the diff in US/Euro spec was due to the cat converter.
(I think similar diffs will be found for the 505).
