I have just been able to "force" my old 386dx 33 w/4meg ram to finally
work! (Thats why I have been offline for so long) I won't be using it
for long though (can't even surf the web with it), I traded the little
81' Jetta for a Pentium 133. I am now driving an 82' Toyota 4x4 truck!
I am still waiting on the back-ordered passenger strut for my Turbo,
so it is still down. The bright side is that it is missing yet another
harsh winter up here.
A very belated thanks to Brian (side power mirror & strut seals) and
Lew (euro headlights and bulbs) for their prompt delivery and
fantastic service. My only complaints were the UPS charges and the
exchange rates...ouch! Once I get the other strut, the car is going to
get all the goodies at once.
I was happy to read about the gatherering at Carlisle (sp?) and was
curious about the exact location of this event? Any help is much
appreciated. Although I probably won't not attend, I would like to see
what kind of trip it would be in case my schedule does clear up. I
remember someone mentioning that they have a drag race competition, If
so, I will be making the trip in my 504 V6 sedan. I hope to have it
going by spring. It would be very surreal being amoungst other Peugeot
enthusiasts, I can't even picture it!
In response to Justins questions on the 86 505 Turbo, I love my car, it
is fantastic. The only major hassle I have encountered are the strut
failures. This was made worse by the fact that the parts distribution
swtched to Cat, and that the pass strut is back ordered to France (so
I'm told). I must say that I am impressed that a 12 yr.old car is
still warrantied on anything!
I am so glad to be online line again, I was really missing the
exchanges that take place on this newsgroup.
Talk to you all soon,
Rabin James
