I haven't had any trouble with mine, except that sometimes it shifts just a
little bit abruptly when going into 4th gear lockup under light acceleration
at lower speeds. I don't know if that's a symptom of anything, but sometimes
I keep it in 3rd gear just to avoid the annoying little "thunk" in slow and
stop-and-go traffic. The manual seems to suggest that if I want to do
anything about it, the cure is to replace the torque converter. So far, it's
not worth the trouble.

I've taken the liberty of changing the subject so it'll be easier to catalog
this thread, as I suspect it will be of some interest. I know I'll be
interested in seeing what others have to say, so I'll know what awaits me.
