Sorry Imre, but I gave the magazine to a friend, so I can't give you the numbers, but Yes
it was the new GTI with the 6-speed tranny and the new engine, and Yes it was
*substancially* slower than the rest. The testers complained about the car's tendency to
oversteer, which maybe fun, but not very confidence inspiring while driving at the limit.

BTW: The Xantia was the one with the active suspension (and almost zero cornering roll),
which has built quite a reputation meanwhile. So, in this case loosing isn't something to
be ashamed of.
BTW#2: A friend of mine (the one which hold the mag in the mean time) drives a 306XSI for
his work, but also owns a 309 16V privately. Guess which he prefers ;).
