<< I think the 504 and 505 4WDs you have seen are probably Dangel
conversions.
I had a chance to buy one for a 504 SW a few years ago, from a fellow who
had one in New Zealand, I think, and when he was not allowed to bring the
whole vehicle back to the US, left the body there and just brought the
conversion, consisting of a subframe, front and rear differentials, axles,
suspension, steering, driveshaft and torquetube, transmission, and transfer
case. It was packed in two crates. In need of cash, he was willing to sell
it rather than reinstall it on his US 504SW. Also in need of cash, I didn't
buy it. Sometimes I wish I had. I have a copy of the manual for it. >>
