Hi Ray,

I have 102,000 miles on my car, which seems average for the age, and far
fewer than several people on this list. I use 10W40, I change my oil
every 3k to 5k miles and use a variety of filters incl cheap Fram
filters, although I will probably stick with Peugeot filters here on out.

I am reluctant to mention it, but I have been using a gasoline additive
called Lubri Gas which I add to my tank every fill-up. I will not stand
on a stump here on this list and try to convince all of you that it
works, but I've had good luck with it. I believe it will quiet the
engine, add mileage, and prolong engine life by increaseing upper
cylinder lubrication via the gasoline. I buy it directly from the
manufacturer in Michigan.
The manufacturer is far more interested in selling this product to fleet
operators who I hear swear by it. I have to buy it in 5-10 gallon lots,
which I split with a relative who uses it in his Volvo diesel marine
engine and some of his automobiles. If anyone wants to try it, I'll get
and address and phone number.
