My notes are sketchy and its been a while, but this is what I think I did
on my '87 505:
1. pull out radio.
2. remove 2 philips head screws in top of radio cavity to pull out radio
panel.
3. The plastic decal - compress the left side from top and bottom (might
need something thin to slip behind it?), it then pivots to the right.
4. Remove Philips head machine screw behind plastic decal.
5. Remove ash tray.
6. Remove Philips head machine screw behind ash tray.
7. Remove 3 5/16" bolts from bottom (or were they nuts? I don't remember.)
8. Fish the dropped parts out from the transmission tunnel.
On my 505, there are two philips head screws securing the radio panel.
