The 1997 Carlisle Import-Kit/Relicar Nationals
CARLISLE, PA - The 1997 Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals, May
9-11, will transform the Carlisle Pennsylvania Fairgrounds into an
"exotic" paradise for automotive hobbyists with a zest for foreign, kit,
replicar and custom compact vehicles.
Attendees will find a show field strewn with more than 700 foreign
marques, kits and replicars. An ideal shopping area filled with more
than 1,200 vendor spaces will offer a myriad of parts, accessories and
merchandise, and a special indoor display will feature prominent kit
manufacturers and the newest available replicars. In addition, anyone
looking to buy a collector car can explore the car corral lined with
hundreds and hundreds of imports, kits and replicars for sale by
individual owners.
The success of last year's Custom Compacts show field has prompted
Carlisle Productions to introduce the Custom Compact Power Jam, a
complete "show within a show", to the event. The Power Jam will feature
customized, slammed, and tweaked domestic and foreign compacts.
A full schedule of family entertainment and competition will add to the
automotive excitement. Special activities include autocrossing (!), a
stereo competition, a cruise, the Carlisle SteelYard, free seminars and
a beauty contest. The fastest time of the day in the autocross and the
stereo competition winner will win airline trips for two to Las Vegas.
The Imperial Palace will provide hotel rooms, and the Las Vegas Motor
Speedway will provide passes to the Indy Racing League race October 11,
1997.
The festivities will conclude Sunday at 4pm with the Carlisle
"Give-Away". One lucky individual in attendance will take home a 1986
Alfa Romeo Convertible.
Admission to the weekend's event is $5, children under 12 admitted
