Thanks to all who have provided information.

What I have gathered is that since the engine was at 2,000 RPM when the
belt went and since I tried to start it after it stopped, the valves are
bent. With that in mind, the shop has quoted me $2,500 for the repair,
if the pistons are OK. That is more than I am willing to put into this
car. I will make some calls in the morning to try to locate a used head
and or engine. More suggestions are welcome.
