>Misunderstood in Georgia,
My 505 (XN6, not turbo) displays similar characteristics. Shifts at
about 2800 rpm under easy acceleration, 3500 rpm under hard acceleration.
I don't know if this relates to the kickdown cable - hopefully someone
else on the list can advise us if this is "normal" or if the automatic
shift points can be adjusted.
According to my Haynes manual, the distance between the stop on the
kickdown cable and the end of the cable housing fitting is supposed to be
not more than 0.5 mm (0.02 in) at idle. Kickdown is supposed to occur
when the crimped stop is 39.0 mm (1.54 in) from the fitting. The manual
doesn't say how to measure that at kickdown while still wearing a
seatbelt.
Can anyone else help us?
