505 ZF Transmission fragility

As some are aware, I just adjusted my AT kickdown cable and its like
having a engine upgrade. I don't think I'd ever been above 3500 rpm
before except when manually shifting.

On one hand, it's nice to graduate (regress?) from the sedate crowd, but
now the recent threads on the ZF transmissions and AT fluid changes have
me worried. AT fluid change is on my annual maintenance list, but I have
no idea what was done for the machine's first 100k miles. (I do know it
had been a looooong time since the oil bath air filter was cleaned out,
if that's any indication.)

Has perhaps the lack of aggressive driving/shifting preserved this
transmission? Or do maybe I have one that escaped the fragile zone?

Does anyone know the relative frequency of problems (e.g. 2% of the
transmissions? 20%? 80%?) and is there any mileage zone (i.e. if its
going to happen, it will 90% of the time by 60k miles)? Or will revving
up in neutral or park trash it at any mileage?
