clutch for 405dl

I need to replace my clutch , my mechanic told me that his supplier told
him that Valeo was only available reconditioned in Canada. I ended up
purchasing a Sachs clutch as it was availabe new. I stopped by the
garage today and when we opened the Sachs box it had a brand new Valeo
clutch inside. Made in France, manufacturing date etc stamped on the
parts.? What is going on here? Are Sachs and Valeo related? Has someone
at the warehouse put made an error.
