There has been some correspondence lately about the
poor life-span of the automatics used in the 405's. I have
an 89 DL that has about 80,000mi and I am getting a
little nervous. Especially since several members of this list
have lost trannys at less than mine has. It was a recent
purchase and was taken care of by the local dealer who
doesn't have a particularly good reputation with Peugeots.

I would like to do a survey of owners of 405 automatics
by having you answer a few simple questions:
1. What year is your car?
2. What is your mileage?
3. What is your trans's current condition?
4. What problems/repairs have you had?
5. How much did the repairs cost?
6. How often do you have the fluid changed?
7. Anyother comments or horror stories you wish to share??

Please e-mail me direct. Let's not clutter up the list with this
survey. I will construe what ever I can from your answers and
list it whenever I can for all to pairooze.

Thank you
Bob Bruce Winnipeg where all automatics should have heaters
in winter.
