Hi folks!
After checking on prices on 390 TRX tires for my 604TD I desided that I
better go with 15" steel! My local Tiere Dealer recomended 195/60 15
installed a set and took car on the road! Handling was terrible and spedo was
way off!
Got back home and got the old calculator out and from Mesuring height and
Circ. and knoving the spedo readings I came up with 205 / 65 HR 15 had my
"Frindly" Tire Dealer Exchange the tires! with a set of Cornell Challenger
GTH @ 54.95 each.
Yesterday I did over 200 Miles on the Interstate and did some milage
checking!
on 75 miles I was off 8/10 of a mile!! rechek on the way back and same
result!
35.4 MPG at 65 -70 MPH Its a 5 Speed!. And car handled wery well, a much
smoother ride. It may not be a Performance tire, But I would not consider a
604TD an Performance car anyway, Just one of the best riding Automobiles you
can get in. Better than My MB 240D .
I have also installed a switch on the dash with a indicator light so I can
turn on the magn. clutch fan manually if I want and with the Indc.Light I can
monitor the fan and be sure it's working, I have used that system on all my
previus Peugeot Diesels and it works!
