There's a way to ship from Europe to the States. I'm from the DC area and I
can tell you that there are cars there with European plates. Check with your
national government. I think you'll find that you'll need to be employed by
the State Department (your country's equalvalent) and on duty in the US. But
don't fret--ask about how to get temperary US tags. There are some cars with
US tags over their country of origin plates--or you might be able to get
special issue plates from the State Department (US). Don't let anyone say
you can't--just keep asking them how to do it.
