The Lumbar support adj. on my 505 broke. I took apart the seat back (you do
it from the back starting at the lower back. It can be done while sitting
in the back seat.) It turned out to be a strap about 3.5 in wide that was
pulled tight when the adjust knob was turned. I connected the strap to the
side of the seat frame with a piece of coat hanger and twisted the hanger
wire until the strap was as tight as I could get it. This worked great for
years.
