Water Pump Owes!

Hi Jim,

I replaced the water pump on my 86 with no problems at all. Normal
hand tools will all you need. I got creative when I did my water pump
install and dismantled the magnetic fan clutch, removed all the
innerds, and just used the pulley itself. I then atttached an
aftermarket "puller" fan on the rad and wired it to run when the clutch
is usually engaged. FYI the pump was 128 cdn.

I did this to prolong the life of the new pump and to improve the
rotating efficiency of the engine. There was a heated discussion of
this topic (electric fans vs. magnetic clutch fans), but I feel that
electric is the way to go for a variety of reasons.

Good Luck

Rabin James

PS. The electric fan thing is very optional, I didn't mean you should
do it, just that I did.
