All 403,404,504,505 lug studs have the same thread. 604 are bigger. All
505s will take alloy wheels without modification, if you use nuts for
alloys. Most lugnuts for alloys will work on 504 and 505 SW steel wheels,
and on 505 sedan steel wheels after about 83. Early alloy lugnuts have a
shoulder which will score a steel wheel's tapered seat--don't use them on
steel wheels. The pre-8 alloy lugnuts with the swivel seat are very
sensitive to overtightening, and may bind when stressed. The swivel base
may separate from the nut and even stick on the stud, preventing removal of
the wheel..

The 15" alloys have a greater offset than the 14". The 85 SW swivels are
not designed for the extra offset, but the wheels will fit on ok.
