I have a suggestion that would meld both old and new. We may know but the
general public does not, that Peugeot is the second oldest car maker on
this planet. Peugeot was the first company to produce a diesel production
car. What we need as far as a car logo is, is a timeline. We can start
with an old Peugeot (such as the Bebe) and end up with the newest
confirmed model. We don't have room for all the models, so we would have
to choose a few. I have seen this before on Alfa Club T-Shirts, and it
works. People will say, "Wow, I did not know that Peugeot has been around
forever". We want to show the public that Peugeot is evolving, that there
are more models out there than the last 505 and 405 models brought to
North America.
This is my view, take what you want and leave the rest.
As far as the Peugeot Lion goes, we need to somehow get permission to use
the current logo.
When I look at the old logo even _I_ draw a blank! It's nice and that but
it does not have the imediate association that the current logo has. The
public has seen the "walking lion" on a variety of items
(bikes,books,Autozone countertops,banner signs in sports events,Formula
1,etc.... the list is long). Why should we go back and have to
re-associate someone with an old logo, when chance are they know what the
current one stands for! Ditto for the Peugeot "fonts"
As I said above, take what you like and leave the rest.
