The 405 is a little noisy by some standards. I noticed that right away in
1988 when I got my Mi16. Things I've considered but have never done:
- add additional padding under front carpeting
- add insulation on face of firewall (behind ECU, Air intake etc
- wrap exhaust header and pipe back to cat with insulation
Yours may be worse than US models. Front want I can tell (and I've seen
European and African 405's, we have more sound deadening. Do you have a
underhood pad for example?
