Thanks, but no. Both times it has happen at the beginning of a trip but I
don't think the car knew it was going on a long trip. The first time it
did it for the first 60 mi. of a 1400 mi. trip! then it was perfect.

I did threaten to abandon it at a rest stop and rent a Japanese car. That
seemed to fix it (-:)
