There seem to be an equal amount of 405's and 505's on the road in New
Hampshire. Locally, I regularly see about 10 of each type (a lot,
considering most towns in the area have less than 10,000 people).
In the Boston area I see many more. 405's and 505 Wagons look great, 505
sedans look average to dilapidated.
Around here, they seem to be owned by long-term owners who bought the cars
new and now realize they can't get rid of them for their "true" value.
I check the papers regularly. There are usually a couple 405's and 505's
in the area, the 405's ranging in price from $2,200 ('89 405DL) to $6,500
('91 Mi16). Most are around $3,200. 505's are usually $1,500 to $3,000
for good running condition.
New Hampshire has a large population of French descent. This may be one
factor in why we seem to have quite a few. But there are a wide variety
of odd cars around here. A couple Citroens; one fairly new one: white
with white leather interior. Maserati, Lotus, BMW Isetta, MG, Triumph,
Alfa Romeo, Renault. And of course tons of VW, Saab, and Volvo. There is
one authorized Peugeot repair shop in NH.
