Tamara. When I was young, my dad always said to put some more @##
behind it. My recommendation is the same. Those fittings get tighter
over the years. Also, you MUST replace the copper washers or you will
WILL have a fuel leakage problem. Ray

the "big end" won't come off, even with what appears to be a considerable
amount of force.

how much force is too much force?

we are using vise grips on the filter, 19mm on the nut securing the line.

The Haynes Manual specifies replacement of copper washers when replacing
filter.

-they didn't come with the new (Bosch)filter....

How important is this? Can we use the old ones?
