Tim,

Peugeot actually have a "factory" modification that I have put into my tank
for removing the in-tank pump, and replacing it with a straight piece of
tube. You can fabricate one yourself with a piece of tube of the correct
length. I believe they actually recommend this modification, since the
in-tank pump does have a limited life span.

I found that my pump was more noisy than usual because it was starving for
fuel. Put a new piece of hose between the tank and the pump (old one was
kinked). I used 1/2inch line, but the real size I believe is metric (maybe
12mm?). I have the 70litre plastic tank, and I dropped it to the end of its
holding bolt to give the fuel line some extra room (the old line was
kinked). Pump has been quite for the last year, and hopefully for the next 10.
