Long time, no see, hello everybody,
Last week, in the parking lot of London Drugs, after driving there with =
my lights on, my car refused to start. A nice guy jumper-started me but =
in an intersection my car stopped and refused to cooperate anymore.=20
I changed the battery with a new one and I bought an alternator from =
used parts (3 months warrantee). It worked, it gave me 13.4V at the =
battery. It only worked five days.
Today, the same thing happened again. This time, because of the new =
battery, after five minutes, I was able to start the car and get home.=20
Problem: when I start the car the alternator does not charge the =
battery. When I rev the engine to 2500-3000 and let go, it starts =
working and I can hear a whistle-like noise coming from the alternator. =
It works again.
I have to tell you that I did not change the belt and I am really pissed =
off because of that. It may happen I did not have to change anything but =
the belt?
Any words of wisdom? Please help again.
