505 ZDJL engine vibrations

Has anyone worked on a solution to the 3500-4000rpm vibrations associated
with these engines. Most people I've talked to in Australia, including the
importer, say that the engine was born that way. It was recommended by the
importer that I;

1. loosened off the engine and transmission mounts to remove any stress in
them, and
2. add a piece of flexible exhaust tube into the header pipe section

no 1. had no effect.
no.2 my exhaust shop said wasn't possible, since the flex should replace a
long, straight section, which isn't possible on a 505.

It's probably not such a bad thing that they're there, since the max speed
in Oz is 110km/h, and the vibrations begin at around 115-120km/h in 5th
gear (not that I ever break the speed limit, of course).
