A used pinionvalve from an 84-on 505 will work if it is good. ABS valves
are slightly different internally, but have been used interchangeably.

If you replace with new or rebuilt, a rebuilt complete rack is a slightly
better bet, in my view, because you can get a lifetime warranty on a
rebuilt rack (mine, at least) compared with 6-12 months on a new
pinionvalve alone, and for less money. And if you replace only the valve,
you take the chance that the pinion bearing in the rack housing is bad
which would cause the early demise of the new valve.
