The XD2 on my 1980 504 needs a new head gasket.
I live in Victoria B.C. an hour or two north of Seattle. I remember seeing
a comment on the List a couple of months ago that it is a real hassle to try
to ship parts across the border into Canada.
My question is this:
Is it false economy (in terms of time involved in R&R-ing the headgasket and
the cost of the gasket itself and the bolts themselves) to re-use the old
head bolts?
Or would a job which re-used the old bolts probably last me until next
summer when the weather will be better and I'll have more time (and all the
other usual rationalisations)?
BTW, what is the *approximate* cost of (a) gasket and (b) the bolts, fob USA?
