Re: 405 and 505's closest substitute

Not to go off the Peug subject, but I had to share my Audi views with
you. Handling is slightly less nimble than the Peugeot, but still
excellent with the uprated turbo suspension ('88+). The 20 valve 5
cylinder turbo cranked out 217 horsepower and one of the best
power/torque curves in the industry all to four very sticky tires. The
body (modern before its time) had a wind resistance of .27! The
reliability of the '88+ sedans has proved better than average as well (I
won't even touch the pre '88 models--not pretty!).

The end result... 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and a top end of 150 (pre chip).
The wagon, 6.6 and 148 (no joke)!!! Remember when Volvo thought they
were so cool with their 850 wagon that could go 0-60 in 6.7? Volvo, eat
your heart out.

As far as the interior goes, I guess that would be a personal matter, but
the techno wizardry sure was nice and the heated seats did always work,
adjustable temp and all. Hell, even James Bond liked it enough to drive
one.

I miss that car. As far as comparisons go, this is not one I would want
to see played out. As far as Volvos go, rip 'em to shreds!
