One other odd thing. Peugeot uses the glo plug controller in a somewhat different way
from other mfrs. I notice that there is a line from the controller to the starter
solenoid if I remember correctly. If you remove it, the glo light never comes on.
Anyway I think the glo plug controller could leak juice down thru the solenoid that
way, but not enough to engage the starter - that would sure drain a battery. You could
make and break the ckt with key off and hopefully there's no spark. If you see spark
you found the leak. That goes for any connection under there.

You know, I may also be confusing it with a weird ignition key switch problem I had
with the other 505TD. The switch can fail in such a way that it leaks (honestly!!)
about 6 volts into the starter solenoid even in the RUN postion. I think when the
contacts burn down, they actually degrade and leave some carbon across them, allowing
a high-impedance "leak" when they are supposed to be open. I ran into this when I
tried to splice in a relay to help solenoid current since I knew the key switch was
getting weak in START. The schematic I had did not show enough detail to determine
what the purpose of the various lines were. I had to blow it up about 4 times just to
read some of it. Good luck.
