Yes, the symbol of a circle within two broken line
parantheses "should" indicate worn brake pads. My
indicator sometimes flickers depending on how much
it's raining. I always check the pads when rotating
the tires. If the indicator light comes on and
stays on, I would probably make a special point of
looking at them.
