1) tires and pressure make a big difference
2) SW8's, and newer 505 wagons have a stiffer ride
3) a loaded SW8 rides better than an empty one
(This I have noticed too, but never thought to mention in my
original query; but it makes sense)
What I have not figured out yet is whether the Michelin X-ones are known
"hard riders". One message actually suggested that the X-ones were
actually relatively softer riding. Knowing more about the x-one is
going to help in deciding when to terminate their service on our SW8.
On a related note, could you post your personal preference(s) on which
tires in your experience provides the best balance of ride, handling and
tread life? A thread on this subject (if it does not already exist)
will prove invaluable every time one of us is in the market for new
tires for our Peugeots.
Thanks again for your advice.
