505 Wagon driveline noise

I had experienced the same fate and here is what solved it .Transmission
vibrations were unbearable above 85 and started to be anoying right at
70MPH.
Just about under the shifter,under the car. there is a a transmission
support. There are 4 tiny rubber mount inside. At first glance they seem
identical and reversible. They are not. If you do this get new one from
Peugeot for a couple dollars. On new one you can clearly see on top the
inscription "HAUT" which means "TOP". Replace these "silent blocks"
properly and chance are that it will solved the problem. Apparently it
is a common side-effect of non-Peugeot transmission repair.
