Thanks for the note. I did buy all new transmission "vibration
dampening/insulating bushings" (as I call them). I know I put them in
correctly but when the mechanic put in the new U-Joint he might have installed
them upside down. I wonder if installing them upside down can really make
that much difference. I'll keep this in mind when I take that assembly apart
next. But this still wouldn't explain the loud "clunk" when shifting into
drive or reverse.... there is "play" in the system somewhere. I just don't
know what is most likely.
