RE: 505 speaker grill removal

Steve. Easy. First of all, there is one screw (phillips) on the right
side grill. In order to remove the screw, you must remove the floor
panel in the passenger footwell. Should come out after you remove the 2
9mm nuts from the top of the panel. Just put it aside. GENTLY, pull
the weatherstrip from the front of the door opening. You will then be
able to juggle the speaker grill out of the opening.

Replacement speakers are a pain to find, and expensive. They are
equalized with the upper front speakers. I've successfully used 6 1/2
inch Radio Shack Co-axile speakers. If you are handy with a soldering
iron, you can solder the old capacitor to the new speaker and re-wire
the things.
