I had the EXACT same scenerio on my 86 505 wagon. It was also on the
left side. I put up with it for years since it was only occasional. If
I would bend the semicirular base contact of some of the bulbs in the
rear light assembly the problems would usually go away for a period. I
tried to find bad grounds but never could seem to find anything. Ground
for SW is on left side of wheel well. Then a short time ago I had an
independent ex-Peugeot mechanic, Jim Mc Donald, look at it. He said he
soldered some grounds and it seems to have cured it.
