The car is in UK. I talked to the owner. He's moving to California.

True. I saw some figures and it is in high demand in the UK.

It sounds like a real good deal. That is, if you are in the UK...

But what about those private import laws? Brett Melancon
has a Bertone X-1/9 that was brought to the states on the
Queen Elisabeth 2 some years ago by a person moving from
the UK to the US. The restriction is that you cant sell a car you
import that way right away. You have to keep it one year.

Now what if you registered the car instead of using the
UK reg? Then selling it back while it is US registered
would be quite easy...
