Yes, those prices are a bit inflated. This has more to do with the
fact that maufacturers here are ripping off consumers and are making big
profits in Britain. It's been the subject of a few documentaries recently
as increasingly people are going to the continent (Belgium, France, Holland)
to buy new RHD cars. The manufacturers are against people doing this but
the European commision has stepped in and said that people have the right to
buy their cars in Europe and bring them back to Britain. The savings are
huge in some cases. I believe in the case of the BMW 3-series, one of the
versions sells for 26,000 pounds versus 19,000 pounds Holland! That's
around US$11,000 difference.

You are right, the 2 L in the 406 coupe is the XU10J4, I was
thinking of the 2L turbo in the 406 sedan, which is actually a trubo bolted
onto a XU10J2.

Let's not even get onto the topic of Europe and taxes. It's an
absolute disgrace. Paying the equivalent of $3.80 US per gallon makes me
sick to the stomach.
