I put a NAPA cooler kit on my 89 turbo. The Al cooler is about 14"x 8"x
1", with lines out the side for push-on hoses with clamps. Cost ~40.00
I made two L shape brackets and used the supplied push thru ties to
attatch the cooler to the Ls. The 2 Ls are bolted to the inside back of
the bumper so the cooler hangs below and behind.
Fits very nicely behind the lower grille of the aero spoiler. Invisible
when painted flat black.
Cut one of the original cooler lines in an accesible place ( usu from
under the car and along the frame rail below the battery area). I will
update this post later with the info on identifying the hoses coming
from the tranny.
I put the cooler before the original. Does several things. A) Lower the
heat load on the rad. B) Prevent over cooling in the winter.
NOTE:
1)Buy better quality hose than comes with the kit. BUT make sure its for
FUEL not water.
2)Use metal hose splicers not plastic.
3)Double clamp every where if you wish
The turbo has an ATF overtemp sender at the outlet banjo from the
tranny,I don`t know the set point, but it is hi. It would be nice to
have a sender with a lower, known, set point.

the Sw8 none yet.

Subject: 4HP22 Cooler Installation

Can someone explain the details on installing a ZF 4HP22 trans cooler on
the
505 V6. Where would it be installed? How are the connections made. Who
makes the cooler (part no., source?). Thanks.....

Rick.
