I have gotten clicking noises from the ECU under the passenger carpet when alternators have died twice (the alternator dashlight is so dim its tough to see, the clicking is a more noticeable warning). I assume its a cry for more voltage from relays in the ECU. You might have a short in your backup light or other tranny electricals.
