With that info from jim,
There are two ways to adjust the mix (rich/lean) on the AFM
(air flow meter) box on an L-jet. One is a screw that is on the
side of the box. There is only one, you cant confuse it with
something else - it's at the bottom of the unit, close to the end
that goes to the intake manifold. This screw is used to adjust
the idle mixture (set the idle speed before proceeding).
The second, is the ring gear that does the spring preloading.
A change of a few notches wont make much difference in
the mix, but as the whole thing ages, the spring is less tight,
which affects quite a bit the lower speed mixture. At WOT
you shouldn't see any difference.
