This is strictly from long-term memory, but didn't Pontiac use a tbelt on
the Tempest four cyl in about 61? Instead of designing a 4 cyl, or stealing
one, they cut one bank off their v8 and jammed what was left into that
compact with the bowed driveshaft. Seems to me they used a timing belt.
(But I never got into '60's American iron much, so I could be wrong.)
