George is right these loosen up. They are also a bear to tighten, I did it every year when I adjusted the valves. In some loations you can use a standard 6 point nut, some places the 12 point is required. I got the 12 pt. lock nuts from an aircraft hardware supplier, about 4 bucks each. I have a new factory gasket if someone needs it for $20.

A reminder to CHECK the exhaust manifold to head nuts and the downpipe
flange nuts. They tend to loosen ( cause exhaust sound ) and are very
expensive to replace (20.00 ea.).
Whenever the intercooler is removed or other work is being done, make sure
these are snug.
