505 td front end

I have neglected for some time examining the front end closely of my 84
505 td front end. It has been a long winter and spring. The tires are
wearing disproportionately on the inside with the passenger side tire
wearing much faster than the driver's side. I don't think that I can
take it to anyone at least not yet. I also have a bit more play in the
steering wheel over time. I would appreciate help on what I should check
and what people know about front end alignment? Rulon.
