505 pwr window switch backlighting

Did you know that the power window switches in the 505's are lit
whenever the ignition is on? I've never seen them lit in any 505's I've
owned until I relamped mine last weekend and the reason is they were all
burned out. Yes, they are on when the park/ head lights are off!. I
found this out after I relamped all the window switches and confirmed by
looking at the elec wiring diagrams. Why did Peugeot do this? Looking
at the internal wiring of the switches, it does not look easy to rewire
the lamps such that they go on/ off with the park/ head lights. Any
comments?
