I got to thinking earlier today. When my father and I test drove the
405S back in late '88, we also tested a new Eagle Medallion (Renault
21). I remember that my dad thought it was a better car than the 405
(not to mention the fact that the dealer had a special on them -
something like $8900 each, or two for $16,500!). Has anyone ever
owned a Renault Medallion on this list? If so, what was your
impression? When Consumer Reports tested the car (a wagon), they
raved about it, except of course their caveat emptor was about past
Renault reliability. If only to reinforce this, every single
Medallion I see looks like it has been through World War 3.
