There are several models out there. I wouldn't trust an universal one,but
what about one that's recommended by the spring maker? I have
some IAP springs for example (stiff) that I want to put on the lancia
along with some Monroes (dont ask, it's the only brand I was able
to find in the US for my car - they are soft but with the stiff springs
should be good - in theory, I haven't bought them yet in case I found
a better shock). Well, IAP also sells a compressor specially made
for these springs. Should I trust it or not?

A friend suggested a chain as a backup, but that sounds terriblydangerous.
