The problem I'm having with my left hand side turn signals not working
seems
to be with the rear turn signal. It is not working at all now, alothough
earlier I played around with the connection a few times, and got it to
work
for a short whiile. Also, the alternator warning light is coming on --
although I've just put in a new alternator. Could the alternator light
being on have something to do with turn signal problem? Has anyone had this

problem with the rear turn signals? What's the most likely cause? Bad bulb

socket? Bad circuit board that holds the bulb sockets? Or bad connector
plug?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Hugo,

I remedied a faulty rear turn signal light on an '84 505 by simply
soldering at the pont where the connector is rivited to the circuit board.
The repair lasted for years. Also, ensure that the contact points are clean
and that there is enough pressure between the contacts and the bulb.

I had a lot more problems with the front signal lights which stopped
working on a regular basis. The humidity would corrode the contacts and I
would have to continually clean them. I finally solved this by installing
new units at $50. each. But I don't think you would have these problems in
sunny, dry Arizona.
